The classes were lively, participants asked insightful questions, and the teacher, yours truly, collected a slew of nice comments on the participant evaluation forms. My favorite comment was "This was the Best CPE instructor I ever had!" (Thanks, Mom.)

Audits of Employee Benefit Plans: A full day program covering auditing and reporting issues, the audit guide, practical implementation guidance, and late breaking news. Participants were particularly interested in how to audit participant-directed transactions conducted directly with the custodian, including voice-response systems and internet/intranet based transactions. One student wanted to know how to do the audit if the FBI has seized all of the Plan's records. ("Put down your mouse and move away from the computer!")

Preparing Form 5500: Especially popular in 2000 during the first year of the new form and new filing scheme, this course covers the background-- who has to file, who doesn't; filing manual or computer versions, and paper or e-filing versions; alternative methods of compliance for top hat plans, training funds, and other plans-- and then we cover the entire 5500 package, line by line, focusing on problem areas.

I will be repeating "Audits of Employee Benefit Plans" seminar, presenting the very popular full day seminar, "Preparing the Form 5500," and teaching "Audits of Employee Benefit Plans-- Level II." The schedule is subject to change, but here's how it's shaping up:
